The internet definitely allows us the opportunity to reach more people than ever before. This is good news for anyone that is operating an online business. Yet you may be thinking too small when it comes to your marketing efforts. Don’t focus on just one region or just one type of marketing.

Think of your marketing strategies as a body of water. Instead of it just flowing along in one direction, you want it to branch out. Some of those branches will end up being large bodies such as rivers and lakes. Others will end up being small streams and even creeks. Yet the volume of all that water is going to add up to much more than what you have with only one of them.

It can be scary at times to place your business out there for the entire work to see. Yet if you have a quality product or service to offer consumers, you should do all you can to get it recognized. There is plenty of potential for anyone with an online business. Think about the big picture though when you are developing the marketing strategies you wish to implement.

The Benefits of Customer Surveys

Too many times we don’t hear from customers unless they have something to complain about. While this is a small percentage of our customer base in most cases, they are important issues that should be resolved as quickly as possible.

However, there are plenty of happy customers out there that you don’t hear from. It may be a good idea to ask them to fill out an online survey about their purchase and their experience. This can provide you with some wonderful information.

It is common for a business to make changes, but what changes are going to be right for you? It may happen that you change something that customers really like. It is better for you to know about this from the start instead of getting complaints after you have made changes that weren’t in your favor.

Blogs versus Newsletters: Which one should you Use?

Blogs and newsletters both provide your target audience with some valuable information. Which one you should use depends on what you want to accomplish. Blogs definitely seem to be the trend right now as people are really responding to them.

With a blog, you should be willing to update it at least once a week. If it doesn’t continually have new information people will stop looking at it. If possible you should be posting to it several times per week. You can also allow people to reply to what you have posted. They can learn a great deal from each other’s comments.

With a newsletter, you can generally get it to everyone on your list to read. Some newsletters are sent monthly while others go out every couple of months. They are a good way to keep your business name in the mind of customers. Some find both a blog and a newsletter set up works well for them. Just make sure all the information in them is correct and valuable to the reader.
